Akarigbo of Remoland Urges Nationwide Cultural Renaissance for Peace and Development

The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, has made a passionate call for Nigerians to embrace a cultural renaissance as a crucial strategy for fostering national peace, unity, and socio-economic development.

The monarch’s appeal was delivered on Friday, October 31, 2025, during a press briefing held at the Remo Growth and Development Foundation Secretariat in Iperu. Oba Ajayi, who was represented by the Ebi of Idena, Iperu Remo, Oba Lukman Salami, was announcing the plans for the 2025 Remo Day Celebration, scheduled for December 2327, 2025.

The Akarigbo stressed that in an era marked by social and ethnic divisions, a return to cultural values holds the key to strengthening the nation’s social fabric.

“The 2025 Remo Day celebration is another beautiful sight put together to celebrate our diverse culture and to strengthen our unity as a people,” stated Oba Ajayi. “The power of unity remains a strong catalyst for progress, and I urge all Remo indigenes, friends, and associates to be part of this cultural renaissance.”

The Chairman of the Remo Growth and Development Foundation (RGDF), Otunba Seni Adetu, added that the festival, themed “One People, Diverse Cultures, One Identity,” exemplifies the collective aspirations of the Remo people and is expected to attract indigenes from all over the world. The week-long event will feature various activities, including a beauty pageant, dance drama performances, and a grand unity rally, all designed to showcase Remoland’s cultural richness and progressive vision. The monarch’s call serves as a potent reminder that cultural heritage must be leveraged not only for economic advancement but also as a powerful tool for community bonding and national cohesion.
