Kaduna Experiencing Improved Security, Says NDA Commandant

Major General Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim, Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), has stated that Kaduna State has seen significant improvements in security over recent months. He emphasized that while progress has been made, continued efforts are necessary to achieve comprehensive safety across the state.

During a courtesy visit by the Kaduna State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to the NDA, Major General Ibrahim highlighted the role of public cooperation in enhancing security. He urged journalists to assist in sensitizing the public about the importance of reporting suspicious activities to security agencies, noting that the NDA and NUJ are partners in progress.

“We are in the process of organizing our security helpline, and very soon it will be operational,” he said. “It will be ready so that if there is anything, we will be able to tackle it much earlier.”

The Commandant also acknowledged the efforts of the NDA in training quality officers for the Armed Forces and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Academy and the media in promoting peace and security in the society.

NUJ Chairman, Alhaji Abdulgafar Alabelewe, commended the Commandant for the quality training provided to officers of the Armed Forces and acknowledged that journalists play a critical role in promoting peace in society.

The NDA, established over 60 years ago, continues to contribute to higher education and military diplomacy by training officers from Nigeria and allied countries. With the establishment of its postgraduate school about 20 years ago, the Academy has expanded its scope, attracting students from various regions.
