Crypto billionaire Blord arrested by police for fraud and terrorism links

 

 

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested Linus Williams, a crypto billionaire popularly known as BLord.

BLord was apprehended in Abuja on Tuesday following allegations against his companies, which include cryptocurrency fraud, terrorism funding, and aiding internet fraud.

In an interview with our correspondent, Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the arrest and stated that the police would conduct a thorough investigation. “Yes, we have him with us. The FCID (NPF-NCCC) is currently investigating complaints against Blord Group, Blord Real Estate Ltd, Blord Jetpaye Limited, and Billpoint Technology,” Adejobi said.

“The offences under investigation include cryptocurrency fraud, aiding internet fraud, computer-related fraud, terrorism funding, and non-compliance with regulatory frameworks. We will ensure due diligence in our investigation to keep our cyberspace safe and secure,” he added.

Adejobi also clarified that the arrest was not related to a petition from Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.
