Bimbo Akintola Shares Funke Akindele’s Journey to Fame and Persistence

Actress Bimbo Akintola recently spoke about her colleague Funke Akindele’s challenging path to success. During a Masterclass session at Euphoria 360, hosted by Femi Adebayo, Akintola shared insights into Akindele’s early career.

According to Akintola, Funke Akindele worked in the film industry for many years but struggled to gain recognition. Despite her long hours on set, she did not receive the opportunities she deserved. However, Akindele’s determination and persistence kept her going.

Akintola noted that Akindele eventually transitioned to the Yoruba film industry, where she began acting and producing. It was her film, Jenifa, that catapulted her to fame and made her a household name.

Akintola emphasized that many aspiring actors admire Akindele without understanding the hard work and struggles she faced. “So many of you now want to be like Funke Akindele; you don’t know her backstory, you don’t know her struggles. You figure it is overnight; no, it isn’t overnight,” she said.
