Adeleke Supports Accord Candidates for 2027 Elections Despite Coalition for Tinubu
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has confirmed his support for candidates from the Accord party in the upcoming 2027 legislative elections. This announcement comes despite his recent coalition with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
Adeleke stated that the coalition is focused solely on Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the January 2027 presidential election. He emphasized that this partnership would not influence the elections for the Senate, House of Representatives, or House of Assembly.
In a post on his X account, Adeleke expressed, “My support for all Accord candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly remains unshaken.” He highlighted that the coalition aims to deliver more than the 1.5 million votes previously promised to Tinubu in Osun State.
The governor also addressed the ongoing local government crisis in Osun State, stating that negotiations are progressing well. He mentioned receiving assurances from the Federal Government regarding positive developments in the near future.
Adeleke urged political leaders to come together despite their differences, emphasizing the importance of unity during these critical times. He said, “From the pain of the past, we must unite for the prosperity of the future.”
