According to Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the Media Information Officer, the troops received a distress call about terrorist activities in the area. The report indicated that 27 residents, including 15 men and 12 women, had been taken by the terrorists.
The troops quickly responded and pursued the terrorists along a route known as Gangare–Kamba. When they confronted the terrorists, the soldiers used superior firepower, which forced the attackers to abandon their captives and flee.
All 27 victims were rescued unharmed and later handed over to community leaders to reunite them with their families.
