FG Targets Global Billions at Maiden ‘Nigeria NOW!’ Expo in Abuja

The Federal Government has launched a major economic drive to attract foreign direct investment into Nigeria’s solid minerals, energy, and infrastructure sectors through the upcoming Nigeria NOW! Global Investors Expo.

Speaking during the official unveiling of the initiative in Abuja, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, stated that the forum marks a decisive step toward ending the export of unprocessed raw minerals in favor of local value addition, processing, and manufacturing.

Represented by the Director-General of the Mining Cadastre Office, Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom, Alake explained that transforming the nation’s natural resources into economic wealth requires patient capital, modern equipment, and responsible investors committed to complying with environmental regulations and protecting host communities.

Organized in collaboration with international event developer EnergyNet, the summit will convene around 600 global investors, project developers, and development finance institutions. The initiative features a joint approach across four Federal Ministries—Solid Minerals Development, Power, Petroleum Resources, and Industry, Trade and Investment—to address interconnected operational needs such as power supply, transportation, and regulatory licensing.

In addition to federal initiatives, state governments across the country will be provided dedicated boardrooms to present bankable infrastructure projects and regional investment opportunities directly to international financiers.

Alake assured prospective global partners that the government is fully committed to maintaining consistent policy frameworks, streamlining licensing procedures, and supporting post-event mechanisms to ensure investment commitments translate into tangible industrial projects.
