Troops Crush ISWAP Torture Camps in Borno and Yobe, Kill 32 Terrorists and Rescue 14 Chained Victims

The Nigerian military has dealt a devastating blow to the heart of the ISWAP insurgency, storming several hidden “torture camps” across the volatile borders of Borno and Yobe States. In a series of high-intensity raids that concluded on Tuesday, troops of Operation Hadin Kai eliminated 32 terrorists and liberated 14 Nigerians who had been held in “hellish” conditions.

The operation, which targeted the notorious Timbuktu Triangle and the deep forests of Gujba, revealed the true horror of the terrorists’ makeshift prisons. Soldiers reportedly discovered underground pits where victims were kept in chains, often for months, as the insurgents used them for ransom leverage or forced labor.

“Our boys didn’t give them a chance to breathe,” a senior military source confirmed. “We moved in with superior firepower and overran their defenses before they could execute their hostages or deploy their new drone tech.”

Indeed, the raid wasn’t just about rescuing lives; it was about stripping the terrorists of their newest toys. Military engineers at the scene destroyed several drone-launching stations. Recent intelligence had warned that ISWAP was beginning to use modified commercial drones to drop explosives on military outposts, but this latest strike has effectively grounded their “Air Force” in the region.

The 14 rescued victims some of whom were too weak to walk were airlifted to a military medical facility in Maiduguri. Meanwhile, the cache of weapons recovered, ranging from RPGs to high-tech satellite phones, suggests that the camp was a major logistical hub for the group.

For the residents of Borno and Yobe, this victory provides a much-needed sense of security. With 32 more terrorists off the battlefield and their “chambers of horror” reduced to ash, the military says the momentum is firmly on the side of the government as the 2026 dry-season offensive intensifies.
