TUC Goes to War With FG Over ‘Heartless’ Salary Freeze; Health Sector Set for Total Shutdown if Workers Aren’t Paid!

The peace in Nigeria’s health sector is about to be shattered as the Trade Union Congress (TUC) has officially declared “war” on the Federal Government. The fight is over the recent stoppage of salaries for health workers under JOHESU, a move the union describes as both “illegal” and “wicked.”

Coming at a time when the cost of bread and fuel is hitting the roof, the TUC says it will not sit back and watch its members suffer. The union leaders have made it clear: you cannot expect people to save lives when they can’t even afford to feed their own families.

“This is a direct attack on the common man,” a TUC representative stated. The union is arguing that the government’s decision to withhold pay is a bullying tactic that will only lead to one thing empty hospitals. They have now given the government a final countdown to release the funds or face a “mother of all strikes” that will affect not just hospitals, but other sectors of the economy.

With the ultimatum ticking down, Nigerians are bracing for a possible total shutdown of public health facilities. If the government doesn’t blink soon, the already struggling healthcare system could be paralyzed by next week.
