State House Permanent Secretary Leads Management Staff in Signing Performance Contracts to Align Presidency with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

In a firm step toward institutionalizing a results-oriented culture at the highest level of government, the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Mr. Temitope Peter Fashedemi, today, Friday, November 21, 2025, led Directors and other top management staff in signing compulsory Performance Contracts.

The signing ceremony concluded the three-day 2025 Management and Ministerial Performance Management System (MPMS) Retreat held in Abuja, which focused on the theme: “Building a Responsive and High-Performance Workforce Through Innovation and Team Work.”

Speaking after the ceremony, Permanent Secretary Fashedemi emphasized that the performance contract is a binding professional commitment and a fundamental pillar of the ongoing reforms across the Federal Civil Service.

“This is part of the reforms that are going on in the Federal Civil Service. The State House is only doing its bit… to ensure that our performance is measured,” Fashedemi stated. “The performance contract is a solemn pledge that makes everyone accountable in line with the President’s vision of a more productive and responsive public service.”

Cascading Accountability

The Permanent Secretary made it clear that the initiative, starting with Directors, would eventually “cascade downwards” through all departments and units of the State House. This mechanism ensures that every staff member, from the top management to the lower cadre, has clear and measurable targets aligned with the national priorities outlined in President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The goal of the exercise is to eliminate traditional bureaucratic bottlenecks and replace them with a culture of efficiency, integrity, and measurable service delivery. The outcome of these performance contracts will form the basis for future staff appraisals and promotions, cementing the administration’s focus on meritocracy and productivity.
